General Practice Data for Planning and Research (GPDPR)

Dear Patients, the most complete & clear information you can find – including legal notices about how our Practice and the NHS collects, uses & shares your Medical Record Data – can be found via the following website https://digital.nhs.uk/data-and-information/data-collections-and-data-sets/data-collections/general-practice-data-for-planning-and-research

We encourage you to browse & read the web pages so that you are best informed on the different types of Data Sharing Opt-Outs, what the NHS/NHS Digital DO and DO NOT do with that information, and accordingly if you would like to remain Opted-In to these Data Sharing Agreements.

If you would like to remain Opted In at the ‘Type 1’ Level but wish to Opt-Out at the National Level, please visit https://www.nhs.uk/your-nhs-data-matters/

Introduction of Triage System for GP and AP (Associate Practitioner) Appointments

From 17th May, the Practice would also like to introduce a Triage based system for all patients wanting to book an Appointment with a GP or AP.

What does this mean?

Firstly, if you would like to book an Appointment with our Nurse or Assistant Team for a Childhood Immunisation, Cervical Smear Test, an Adult Vaccination/Injection or a New Patient Health Check, you can still do so directly via the NHS App or via Reception.

However, from this Date, if you would like to Request a Consultation with one of our GPs or APs, you will have to first book a Clinical Triage Slot. You can do this via Reception or Online via the NHS App.

*Having looked through your Electronic Medical Record, our Clinical Triage Team will then call you back the Same Morning or Afternoon that you book your Triage Slot for a brief 60 second conversation to best evaluate your Healthcare Needs and Direct you to, or indeed Book you in, with the most Appropriate Clinician at the most Appropriate Time and via the most Appropriate Mode of Consultation (Face-Face or Telephone)*

It will be important to understand that these Triage Conversations WILL NOT be full Consultations but simply to better understand your need – and timing of that need – for a complete Medical Consultation. It will therefore be very important to keep your phone with you to answer your phone straight away. Accordingly, please DO NOT expect the Triage Clinician to fully discuss or resolve your needs at that point. If more time is needed for discussion or to examine you physically, that Triager will indeed book and confirm a Full Consultation for you as soon as possible.

For Patients that miss the intial Triage Call back – we would advise that you submit an eConsult via our Homepage.

With this system, we hope to more Quickly & Reliably respond to your Health Concerns, whilst at the same time ensuring the Maximum Availability & Suitability of our Consultations.

Resetting Harrow Road GP Practice Services

Dear Patients,

The last 12 Months have been a very challenging time for all of us. We’d like to thank all our Staff – both our Clinical & Non-Clinical Teams for getting us through this tough period of time and continuing to deliver the best possible service for you as our Patients.

By and large we have manged to navigate this time by offering our services primarily as a Telephone Consultation based service but as our Practice Team and hopefully yourselves have had both doses of the COVID Vaccine – and in line with Government Dates for the Easing of Lockdown – the Practice would like reset our Service Offering as follows:

Monday 17th May:

  • Restoring Face-Face Consultations as the Default Mode of Consultation.
  • Reopening our Car Park for Patients needing to Drive to the Practice (though 1/2hr Free Parking bays still available on Howard Road for short term waits).

Monday 21st June:

  • Resumption of Walk-In Reception Services

Book your COVID Vaccine through the NHS Website

We encourage all our Patients aged 40years of age and above (or anybody who has been notified as being ‘Clinically Vulnerable’) to book their COVID Vaccination via the NHS Website at www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination

Once you have had your Vaccine, you can use the NHS App to View (and should you wish) to show to any necessary party your COVID Vaccination Record
